The Story

Nearly 200 years of hospitality have unfolded within the shingled walls, dating back to the 1830s, when Captain Calder built the Coastal Federal-style mansion. In 1870, the doors were opened to travelers, inspiring the design narrative of a nonchalant innkeeper's humble abode. The House reflects her nostalgic musing for the Island's native botany, fostering a retreat for holistic wellness.

Our Neighbors

On the north shore and perched atop one of the highest points on the island, Life House Nantucket is a quick stroll to both shops and stretches of sand. If you like your beach days tranquil, you’re in luck: the surf here is especially serene, thanks to protection from the Nantucket Sound.
